personal interests the arts music my music

Both while at Glendale College and Cal Poly, I had friends or roommates that were good on the guitar.
Sometimes we would sing and play and record music on a giant old reel-to-reel 4-track tape recorder that would do sound-on-sound.

At Cal Poly, my room mate and I used to take breaks from all-night architectural projects by taking our guitars and the tape recorder
to the tiled restroom in the architecture building where the echo seemed to enhance the sound.
Many years later I found it interesting to find that Wierd Al Yankovic had also been a student at Cal Poly's school of architecture
a few years after us and confessed to a reporter that he had worked out some of his songs in the tiled restrooms there. Small world.
Unforturnately, I had none of his success and little of his talent.

Today, when I listen to the old recordings, I realize how bad they really were... still they represent an effort... and some good times in my life.
My success with music has always been limited and inconsistent, but it has never stopped me from trying... and enjoying.

These self-portraits were an assignment for a photography class at Glendale College circa 1964.
The assignment was to do a simulated album cover.

A few compositions... and a couple terrible sound clips.
